Date: 22nd – 24th August 2022
Artist: John Short
Medium: Watercolour painting and drawing
Participants: Maximum 8
Course level: Intermediate and advanced
During the course each student will visually explore an aspect of the costal location of Dunmore East through drawing and watercolour.
The village has many aspects of visual interest from architecture, people, landscape and seascape point of view, based on which we will be looking at creating images that are not predictable. It will be challenging and fun.
You will be encouraged to experiment with new ways of looking and creating images, following a simple course structure based on process, research, discussion, demonstration, studio/location work and presentation.
In teaching the workshops John also participates in project work with the group to demonstrate the process of working on location and in studio – not to show ‘how to do it’ but to suggest fresh ways to look, think and do, and share many of his own tips and tricks for working in the watercolour medium.
*The course take place in Artform modern light-filled seaside studio with 24hr access for each visiting artist and around the beautiful coastal village of Dunmore East, with artist accommodation and options for artists’ non-painting partners.
