‘Capturing The Narrative’ Photography Workshop with Patryk Gizicki

An immersive workshop on shaping portraits with intention, emotion, and technique to tell stories with depth and resonance.

Date: Saturday, 13th of September 2025 Time: 11:00 – 17:00 Location: Outset Gallery, Galway

Join us for Capturing the Narrative, a full-day workshop with visual artist Patryk. This hands-on session is for photographers, artists, and creatives who want to make portraits that go beyond likeness – capturing stories, emotion, and atmosphere.

Workshop Overview:

Patryk will share his journey from lifestyle photography to fine art, showing how lighting, composition, and mood can turn an image into a story. You’ll explore ways to plan and direct a shoot with purpose, and how small details can add layers of meaning.

What to Expect:
Artist Introduction: Patryk’s path, key projects, and tips for staying true to your vision while working with clients.
Group Discussion: What makes a portrait stand out – technical skills, emotional connection, and storytelling details.
Practical Skills: Using mood boards, location scouting, and lighting to build a narrative.
Live Shoot: Work with models, experiment with ideas, and get instant feedback.
Q&A: Advice on building your practice, working with brands, and avoiding overdone trends.

Additional Information:

Materials: Camera, a phone camera will do! We also encourage attendees to bring any props they enjoy photographing with (this is not essential).

Refreshments: Please bring your own lunch and snacks.

Registration: Spaces are limited to ensure a personalised experience – early booking is recommended.
