Description

Gain confidence in drawing from life through charcoal with Gregorio Mesa.

Using a series of short poses, hone in on proportion and gesture, looking for dynamic ways to securely find the essence of the subject’s pose.

Guided by Gregorio, you’ll study two main drawing techniques used by artists since the 19th Century and still practiced today.

These classical methods encourage a deeper understanding of how to capture the pose – emphasising gesture, and looking for the larger forms, ignoring small details, and training the eye to be selective and concise.

Using the comparative measurement method, class demos, and personalised critiques from Gregorio, you’ll understand the step-by-step process of two of the main approaches to classical drawing used by some of the world’s most prolific artists throughout modern history.

Ideal for artists looking to strengthen their ability to create life-like representations of the human figure and form, this 3 day intensive workshop allows you approximately 18 hours drawing directly from the life model and one-to-one mentorship.

Easels provided.
