Description

A showcase of artwork made by Palestinian children, platforming their voices through art and exchange.

Showcasing artworks by Palestinian children aged 3 – 17, HeART of Gaza gives a platform to their voices through art. They ask us to bear witness to their weariness, fear and loss, but also to their resilience and determination as they continue to embrace childhood, celebrating friendship, family, hobbies, pets, and birthday cake. Viewers are invited to make art in response to be sent back to Gaza, transcending borders and language, confirming to the children that we see them and we stand with them. All materials will be provided.

What started as a WhatsApp exchange of children’s art between friends Féile Butler in Sligo and Mohammed Timraz in central Gaza, has grown into the project HeART of Gaza. Via social media, the project quickly captured the imagination of solidarity groups around the world. There have been over 120 collaborative exhibitions to date, from Chicago to London, from Berlin to Rome.
