Join Fergal Brennan for a free online workshop using the beauty and versatility of garden leaves, to learn design skills, printing techniques and an appreciation of nature. Participants will create a page decorated with leaf silhouettes, by considering pattern, colour and placement.
Fergal Brennan studied animation and fine art at IADT Dun Laoghaire. He is an award-winning filmmaker, lecturer, and collaborative artist who has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad. His projects interweave animation, drawing and recorded speech to ask questions about culture.
This workshop is part of Tea by Post, a pilot seed-sharing project founded by artist Brenda Kearney in early 2021; in response to an initial call for participation, members of the public shared seeds for growing herbs for making tea. In return, they receive updates on research and growing and a special edition herbal tea at the end of the project. The tea serves as a portrait of all seeds shared. This initial run of the project is designed as an open research year, which is developing in response to interest and participation. This series of workshops is funded and made possible by Creative Ireland and Kildare County Council.
Details of any materials required and Zoom meeting details will be emailed to each participant ahead of the workshop. Suitable for all levels, no previous experience necessary!
