Join us in the beautiful Mulranny Arts studio overlooking Clew Bay for a 2-day mixed media workshop with the amazing Aine Devine.
Aine’s description of the course:
‘Over our two days flower painting, we will look at ways of describing the floral still life set up in acrylic, ink and collage.
As a subject flowers are a true gift. Beautiful colours, shapes and patterns claim our attention. Making art inspired by flowers is a joyful dance and one I am deeply delighted to share.
On this course I will demonstrate how you can break down the information into simple shapes and describe the liveliness of the set-up in swift moves of a rag and large brushes. Scumbling on dry paint, splashing on wet paint, we will gradually ease into the painting process.
I will demonstrate ways to carve out the unique shapes of each flower, selecting what’s important from all the information available. In this way we will capture the character of the flowers while still keeping a feeling of liveliness.
I’ll bring a good selection of papers for collage. It’s a lovely addition and brings new colour and pattern options.’
