WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This two day workshop will introduce participants to screen print processes and practical skills using their own art work and ideas. Our state of the art facilities will support the making and creating of a Screenprint using stencils made using our Kippax tech exposure unit, students will learn to emulsion coat a screen which is placed in the unit and exposed with ultraviolet light.
Students can expect to be printing their first colour quite soon into the process, managing your workspace, handling screen printing equipment and tools and using water based inks. Using this method, you will explore the diversity and immediacy of screen printing while learning new skills involving processes of coating, exposing and printing. You will also learn how to register, mix, choose colours and complete a professionally presented edition of colour prints.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
The Screenprinting workshop is suitable for both complete beginners and intermediate level.
REQUIREMENTS AND MATERIALS
The Graphic Studio Dublin supplies all materials for the student of the Screenprint workshops. This includes paper, inks, tracing paper, Indian ink, screens, squeegees, masking tape, packing tape, acetate, emulsion for screens, chemicals for washing emulsion off, degreasing agent and sponges. Please bring your own apron and notebook.

ABOUT THE TUTOR
Siobhan Hyde is a printmaker living and working in Dublin, Ireland. She holds an MA in Art and Design Education and First Class Honours in Fine Art Printmaking from the Dublin Institute of Technology. She has been a member of the Graphic Studio since 1991. She has been part of the printing teams engaged with the visiting artists programme projects over the years and is an excellent and proficient printmaker.
Siobhan works mainly in the medium of screenprint, producing prints based on her immediate experiences of life rendered through still life imagery, her unique style of simplifying form stimulates reflection and inspires calm.
Before booking, please consider your availability carefully, as any changes may affect other participants and the overall workshop experience.
Please note there is a minimum requirement of participants, if not reached course is subject to cancellation. A full refund will be issued in this event. If a participant cancels with less than 21 days notice, they forfeit the deposit amount of €50, cancellations with less than 14 days notice will forfeit the full course fee.
