Description

Muine Bheag Arts is excited to present a type-design workshop led by Anna Aleksejeva. In this workshop, you will explore the fundamentals of type design by creating your own letters using a variety of materials and techniques. It’s all about unlocking your creativity, experimenting freely, and most importantly – having fun. No experience is necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to play! Materials will be provided.

As a graphic designer, Anna Aleksejeva is passionate about creating strong visuals that effectively communicate ideas. With a strong foundation in digital design and bookmaking, she is particularly focused on exploring type design as a tool for expression, structure and storytelling.

Anna thrives in collaborative environments, where she brings thoughtful design solutions and fresh perspectives to the table. Her curiosity and dedication to refining her typographic voice drive her to continually experiment, learn, and push creative boundaries. In an ever-evolving design landscape, Anna remains committed to producing meaningful work and contributing to projects that value both craft and concept.

Muine Bheag Arts is pleased to present COMMUNE from 15th – 25th August 2025. Taking place in and around the Muine Bheag Community Centre, the programme unfolds as a collection of live events, workshops and public interventions.

COMMUNE is a site for assembling and disseminating ideas, emerging from a central studio and gathering space shared by artists, community groups, collaborators and graduates-in-residence. COMMUNE can be understood as a series of small collective actions and gestures which reach towards systems of support and connection.

COMMUNE is kindly supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, Carlow Arts Office, Creative Ireland Carlow and Bagenalstown Creative Places
