Alan Dunne and Alé Mercado Shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2020

Two Irish Illustrators, Alan Dunne and Alé Mercado, are shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2020. Alan Dunne is shortlisted for his work for the An Post Christmas Stamps 2019 in the Design Product & Packaging category and Alé Mercado is shortlisted for his work for West Cork Podcast Live Show in the same Design Category.

The World Illustration Awards are delivered annually by The Association of Illustrators (AOI) in partnership with the Directory of Illustration.

Alé Mercado and Alan Dunne have been selected for the final shortlist of 200 projects from 4,300+ entries submitted by illustrators from 79 countries into the World Illustration Awards 2020. Alé Mercado and Alan Dunne are both members of Illustrators Ireland, the Association of Illustrators (AOI) and Visual Arts Ireland (VAI).

“This year’s shortlist reflects the breadth of creative solutions that illustration and animation can deliver, from works that literally walk you through a story using scenes and characters, to pieces with a subtler, conceptual narrative. The power of the medium is truly on display here”

– Elizabeth Owen, President, Directory of Illustration
