Arts Council Festival Information Clinics in Dublin, Limerick, Cork

In April, the Arts Council will present Festival Information Clinics at three locations across Ireland. These clinics provide information on the funding schemes and supports available to festivals in 2019 and 2020. The information sessions will also include details on how to loan from the Arts Council Collection, a presentation from one of three national organisations providing supports to festivals and a Q&A for those in attendance.

Clinics will take the following format from 1 – 4 pm

· 1.00pm: Introduction
· 1.10pm: Festival Funding Supports presentation (Karl Wallace, Head of Festivals, Arts Council)
· 1.30pm: How to Loan from the Arts Council Collection (Ben Mulligan/Eamonn Maxwell Visual Arts Collections Team, Arts Council)
· 2.00 pm: Guest Speaker (Please see dates below for speaker profiles and topics)
· 2.30 pm: Q&A and meet and greet festivals
· 3.30-4pm: wrap up.

Clinic Information, including Guest Speakers:

Thursday 11th April | Civic Theatre, Belgard Square East, Tallaght, Dublin 24 (Guest speaker – Stuart Garland, Volunteer Ireland).
Volunteer Ireland is experienced at working with a host of national and regional festivals across the country. They will explore the fundamentals of managing volunteers, how to get the most out of them and where to find them.

Saturday 13th April | Dance Limerick, 1-2 John’s Square, Limerick (Guest Speaker – Colin Hindle, Failte Ireland).
Colin Hindle of Failte Ireland will give an overview of the work that Failte Ireland provides in relation to festivals. This will include funding, festival development and also the festivals that are co-created by Failte Ireland.

Friday 26th April | The Everyman, 15 MacCurtain Street, Cork (Guest Speaker – Lucy Medlycott, ISSACS)
Lucy Medlycott, Director of the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network, will share some insights and tips about the value and importance of presenting art in the public space and how these art forms are rooted in public engagement, reaction and transformation.
