Call for Submissions | Disrupt Publications

disruptpublicationsDeadline for submissions: 30 November

Disrupt is a new publication that aims to create dissent in a world of art. This will be Disrupts first publication and they are looking for submissions on the following concept.

‘The Graveyard of Ambition’

The phrase ‘graveyard of ambition,’ is often used to describe a place where the desire to succeed is numbed by the invisible weight of contentment. A quote often wrongly attributed to Dylan Thomas in reference to his hometown of Swansea, its usage is deemed to be self-explanatory. Ambition is everything. In fact the town of Swansea was so tarred by this phrase, it commissioned a poet, Thomas Hughes to respond. That he did with a three worded poem, Ambition is Critical.

What role does ambition play in art and what does a, ‘graveyard of ambition,’ mean in this context?

Disrupt is looking for articles and images on this idea. This can take the form of a photo essay, critical review of an exhibition or prose writing. Articles should be no more than 1500 words long.

The final publication will be published online via and will also have a limited printed edition.
