Ballina Arts Centre is inviting North Mayo-based artists to take part in Made in a Day, a one-off opportunity for locally-based artists in the North Mayo region to participate in an exciting visual arts Happening at Ballina Arts Centre.
Artists are invited to come to the building and make a piece of work which will then go forward for consideration for an exhibition in December. Saturday 26th November will be the ‘Making Day’, and the building will be at the disposal of the participating artists, from 10am to 6pm. All the relevant facilities of the building will be available to artists on the day. The building will be open and the public will be invited and encouraged to come in and see the work being made.
Made in a Day is open to emerging and established artists, working in any media – paint, photography, sculpture (subject to size), digital media, etc. Artists must bring their own materials and equipment (paints, brushes, easels, paper etc.).
Artists must be from, or living in, North Mayo in order to be eligible for consideration. All work must be finished on the day and ready to hang. Artists must be aged 18 or over. The exhibition, Made in a Day will open at Ballina Arts Centre on Thursday 8th December and will run until Thursday 22nd December.
Participation is free and all artists living in the area are welcome, just come along in the day.
