Cameraless Experimental Photography Workshop | The Darkroom, Dublin
Camerless experimental photography workshop images without a lens making Photograms, Chemigrams and Cyanotypes.
This workshop is for those who want to get creative, experiment and play using photography materials and darkroom techniques.
All that is required is enthusiasm, as well as a notebook and pen.
Notes will be provided on the day. Don’t wear your best clothes!
All materials are provided and included in the cost of this workshop.
A practical, hands-on workshop that is all about delving into some of the oldest processes used for recording. From making photograms to experimenting with Chemigrams that produce unusual results to producing Cyanotype, an Iron printing process that produces a striking prussian blue image.
We will have a selection materials here for you all to use but if you want to bring your own please do.
It would be best if what you are bringing will have some transparency, leaves and small flowers are great as well as unusual glasses (we have a lot here).
-Start by coating your paper with the cyanotype chemicals so that it can be left to dry to be used later on in the day
-We will make photograms in our black and white darkroom
-Make your Cyanotype images
-Then with all our knowledge we will get messy and make chemigrams where we will be using different substance to create different chemical reactions and colours from washing up liquid to honey.
