This intensive course provides you with the creative ability to visually communicate your design ideas and the technical skills to produce complete costumes, hair and make-up for performers.
Areas of general study include research, design development, drawing and illustration, pattern drafting and costume construction for the realisation of 2D designs into 3D. You will also learn practical skills for hair/wig and make-up design and application.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate: O6/H7 in 5 subjects
Equivalent qualifications will be accepted
Mature applicants who have relevant experience and may not meet the above entry requirements are welcome to apply.
All applicants will be interviewed and must present a portfolio at interview. The portfolio should demonstrate an ability to draw. Observational drawing (not from pictures or imagination) is essential. Portfolio should also display use of colour. 3D work, sketchbooks and ideas books can also be included.
