Καφέ Εικαστικών Καλλιτεχνών με την Κίρα Ο'Τουλ και τον Μιγκέλ Μαρτίν (Τρίτη 16 Ιουνίου)

We are delighted to announce that for our weekly Visual Artists Café next Tuesday the 16th of June, 3pm we will be joined by visual artists Kiera O’Toole and Miguel Martin.

Κίρα Ο'Τουλ

Dublin born, Kiera O’Toole is an independent artist with a studio in The Model in Sligo since 2016 and is a current PhD Doctoral Researcher at Loughborough University UK. O’Toole is concerned with how humans experience the everyday world and in particular the natural world. Her drawing practice deeply considers the atmospheric, material, temporal and corporeal aspects of human experience as a way to pay attention to the here and now. O’Toole’s practice is released both inside and outside the gallery space: site-responsive drawing, contemporary drawing, public art, digital media, installation and sculpture.

Her practice includes projects, exhibitions and residences including ARTWORKS 2020, VISUAL Carlow, Carlow Arts Festival, Highlanes Gallery 2020, Beyond Drawing curated by Arno Kramer, Ballina Arts Centre, West Cork Arts Centre 2020, Project Anywhere; global bind peer-reviewed exhibition, conference and book in 2020 and is lead by the University of Melbourne and Parsons School of Art, NY. ‘OToole also publishes including contribution to book on drawing research “’Drawing Conversations 2: Body, Space Place 2’ published by Cambridge Scholars in 2020. Kiera is the co-founder of Drawing deCentered which is professional artist-led collective that explores contemporary drawing practice.

Μιγκέλ Μάρτιν

Miguel Martin, who lives and works in Hastings, England, completed his BA in Fine Art at the University of Ulster in 2008. He has exhibited his work both locally and internationally in group exhibitions at galleries such as Pallas Projects, Dublin (2018); Visual, Carlow (2017); and Trinity Buoy Wharf, London (2019/2020). His recent exhibition ‘Fire In The Middle’ at the Naughton Gallery at Queen’s, was a site-specific installation that incorporated moving image, photographic, and sculptural works that cross-reference autobiographical elements with science fiction and uncanny cartographies.

Το διαδικτυακό μας Καφέ δεν θα αποτελεί εξαίρεση - θα σας ενημερώνουμε για νέα από το VAI και τον τομέα, θα προσκαλούμε καλλιτέχνες να μοιραστούν το έργο τους μαζί σας και θα έχουμε προσκεκλημένους ομιλητές που θα παρουσιάζουν ευκαιρίες που είναι διαθέσιμες σε εσάς.
