Etching on Copper with Josephine McCormick at Belfast Print Workshop

Etching is a rich, wonderful medium, to learn and produce art from as well as a foundation skill within printmaking. This course is suitable for beginners or for those wishing to extend their creative skills and print an edition. In a supportive, friendly studio environment learn how to develop your drawing or image realised as an etching. You will be introduced to techniques such as soft ground, hard ground, sugar lift and chine colle. Bring your image or creative idea to the first session and in collaboration with our printmaking tutor Josephine McCormick create an etching. Explore the potential of etching and build up an image of your choice, working with handmade printmaking papers, quality inks and a printing press. All materials supplied*

*Additional copper can also be pre-ordered for the class at £10 for an A5 sheet or £20 for A4.
