Exhibition Opening: Thursday, 20th Sept 2018, from 6 – 8pm.

Pradeep Mahadeshwar is a visual artist and designer born in Mumbai, India, and now living in Dublin, Ireland. He is documenting 100 items that he has experienced in his daily life. He had been working on this project for the last one and a half years.

So far, he has documented 32 encounters. “I has been collecting my data about what I prefer to eat, and drink, what I sense by the various aromas, and what I like to see.”

He creates the faces of his face mould. He uses cultural references and the mythology of his roots in India to draws the viewer’s attention to the ephemeral nature of life. “To draw upon cultural context / motif, after photographing the face, I immerse it in a nearby freshwater body, or break it up into small pieces and feed it to birds.”

The exhibition at Copper House Gallery will preview 20 faces from this on going series.

The artist will donate 20% of his earnings from the exhibition to The Irish Cancer Society and is grateful for the work and services they provide.
