We are delighted to announce our upcoming group show, 11/11, launching at Hang Tough Contemporary on Thursday 11th Nov, featuring four incredibly talented Irish artists:

  • Sarah Wren Wilson
  • Shea Dalton
  • Lee Welch
  • Fergal Styles

Sarah Wren Wilson is an Irish artist based between Dublin and the West of Ireland. In her painting practice, she examines the process of abstraction through a transition of narratives. A starting point for form, line, and colour stems from daily fleeting observations from the artist’s immediate perception of her surroundings.

Sarah Wren Wilson studied BA (Hons) Fine Art at Loughborough University, England before completing her Fine Art Masters at the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and currently has a Solo Exhibition; Ping Pong running at Linenhall Art Centre, Castlebar (20th Aug- 16th Oct 2021). This September she looks forward to beginning a year’s studio residency award with RHA IPUT Wilton Park Studio, Dublin.

Shea Dalton is a practicing artist based in Dublin. He received his Masters in Fine Art from the National College of Art and Design in 2006. He has exhibited in group and solo shows in the Netherlands, Sweden, Iceland, Canada and Ireland including a solo show at the Ashford Gallery, the RHA in late 2019.  He was awarded the Visual Artist Bursary from the Irish Arts council in 2020 in order to support the production of new work. His paintings are held in both public and private collections.

Lee Welch (IRL/USA) completed an MFA at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam and gained his BFA from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. He is the NCAD Studio Artist for 2020-21 and was recently awarded a residency at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin. Welch’s work has been featured in numerous institutions including Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Michigan State University; Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (MUSAC), León, Spain and Objectif Exhibitions, Antwerp. His paintings are in private and public collections such as Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane and the OPW – State Art Collection.

Fergal Styles (b. 1992) is an artist living and working in Dublin, Ireland. He uses a wide variety of media to create works that move between low realism and high abstraction. Fergal graduated from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin (2016) and in 2018 completed a fellowship at Wendy’s Subway Brooklyn, NYC. In 2020, Wendy’s Subway published Golliard/Methexis a publication by himself and artist Cillian Finnerty. Fergal has received funding awards from public bodies such as the Arts Council of Ireland and DLR Arts. His work has been included in recent exhibitions such as ‘In A New Light’ at ArtCityWorks London, and ‘Rising’ at HangTough Contemporary, Dublin. His work is currently held in both public and private collections
