DESCRIPTION:The art installation 600 is a site-specific piece which artist 
 Jenny Wood-Sullivan originally made in 2018\, but is delighted to be showi
 ng it again to coincide with the 2026 National Famine Commemoration event 
 taking place at the Irish Workhouse Centre 17th May.\n600 refers to this w
 orkhouse's maximum capacity of paupers who could avail of poverty relief. 
 This work gives a nod to the Japanese artform Senbazuru\, which is the tra
 dition of folding 1000 paper cranes as a gift of honour\, healing and peac
 e. Wood-Sullivan has folded 600 doves from 100 year old book paper which a
 re then hung from the rafters of what was once the girls school room.
