Cork artists, Eadaoin Glynn and Margaret Kiely’s exhibition, A Sense of Place opens 1st August 2019 in Bishopstown Library, Wilton, Cork.
Margaret uses representational techniques to capture Cork landmarks and scenes from nature in oil and acrylic. Eadaoin is an intuitive painter, abstracting landscapes in oil and cold wax:
“The painting process starts with an image, a memory or an emotion. I build layers of oil and cold wax. The process of adding layers of paint and excavating, scraping and dissolving them builds texture and depth, creating a history of marks, echoing how land is laid down over time,” says Glynn
The exhibition runs until 28th August 2019.
All proceeds are in aid of Pieta House, Age Action and Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
