SUMMARY:Ar an Imeall | Pamela de Brí at Esker Arts
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe exhibition Ar an Imeall – On the Edge is a bilingual
project which explores and documents a large selection of Ireland’s offs
 hore islands.\nHaving researched the history\, landscape\, demographics\,
and topography of the islands over the last few years\, the artist has pai
nted them\, as seen from the mainland\, trying to capture their essence. A
lmost 60 islands are investigated\, mainly those that are or were once inh
abited and\, except for Achill\, are not connected to the mainland by a br
idge. The project seeks to record\, celebrate\, respect and remember the i
ndividual world that each island is and was to those that lived and still
 live on it.
