THE SCULPTURAL IMAGINATION OF SEANIE BARRON ASKEATON CONTEMPORARY ARTS: WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBOURHOOD 2022 FRIDAY 17 JUNE: 8pm, ongoing to 25 June at ASKEATON CIVIC TRUST
For decades, SEANIE BARRON has roamed around his native Askeaton, looking for wooden branches in fields or ditches, or growing in a bush. He then collects and shapes them into walking sticks. In his new exhibition presented throughout Welcome to the Neighbourhood, surreal forms and shapes reference wasps, salmon, snakes, ice skaters and cocktail parties! Join for a celebration with the launch of a new publication, The Sculptural Imagination of Seanie Barron, featuring an in-depth essay by curator JON WOOD. Co-curated by HELENA TOBIN and South Tipperary Arts Centre.
