Void Gallery are delighted to announce our exhibition Beating a Retreat with the artist Cevdet Erek.
Beating a Retreat will run from 7 September to 30 October, with a preview on Saturday 4 September from 6 – 8pm.
Cevdet Erek is an Istanbul based artist and musician who has presented his installations internationally in numerous solo and group shows. A background in architecture, sound engineering, and performing in a band forms the basis of his practice. In his working process Erek often responds to architectural context through interventions and using sound to inhabit the space.
The exhibition at Void has been developed at a distance through the lens of conversations, processes of experimentation and virtual tools. Beating a Retreat will include sound pieces composed by Erek, drawings, and sculptural elements such as a new work created as part of Erek’s ‘Rulers and Rhythm Studies’ (2007 – ongoing).
Although booking for the preview isn’t a necessity, we encourage you to sign up via Eventbrite here.
More information about the exhibition can be found here.
