SUMMARY:Calling Up Berba | Donna Wright at Laois Arthouse
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nLaois Arthouse are delighted to present new work by art
ist Donna Wright (Aus)\, resident at Laois Arthouse\, Stradbally. During
her residency Donna has developed new work exploring the ecology and mytho
logy of the River Barrow. Working on large swathes of unstretched canvas h
er works express layered thinking\, weaving mythological and biological re
adings of place. 'A breath away from gone'\, brings together the ancient
salmon of knowledge\, the sacred hazelnuts\, the origin myth of Barrow God
dess Berba and the dramatic decline of the freshwater pearl mussel.
