tcreator\n\nMarian Balfe is an artist from the midlands of Ireland. Her pr
 actice is wide-ranging and explores how painting\, writing\, sculpture\, a
nd printed ephemera may be used to reflect on place\, identity\, and value
systems in society.\n\nMuine Bheag Arts is pleased to present COMMUNE fro
m 15th - 25th August 2025. Taking place in and around the Muine Bheag Comm
unity Centre\, the programme unfolds as a collection of live events\, work
shops and public interventions.\n\nCOMMUNE is a site for assembling and di
sseminating ideas\, emerging from a central studio and gathering space sha
red by artists\, community groups\, collaborators and graduates-in-residen
ce. COMMUNE can be understood as a series of small collective actions and
gestures which reach towards systems of support and connection.\n\nCOMMUNE
is kindly supported by the Arts Council of Ireland\, Carlow Arts Office\,
Creative Ireland Carlow and Bagenalstown Creative Places.
