SUMMARY:Castalia: An Ongoing Story | Brianna Hurley at Tea Houses
DESCRIPTION:The Tea Houses is delighted to invite you to 'Castalia: An Unfo
lding Story'\, an exhibition by visual artist Brianna Hurley\, opening Sat
urday the 9th of May at 3.00pm.\nHurley's vivid paintings conjure an imagi
ned planet of hot red earth\, lush and towering forests. Working with acry
lic paint\, pencil and acrylic marker\, the artist constructs landscapes o
f striking chromatic intensity\, alive with oases of colour and calm. Look
closely and you'll find the artist herself painted into the landscape\, a
bsorbed into an environment far larger than herself. Curated by Shannon Ca
rroll\, as part of the Kilkenny County Council Arts Office Programme.
