Working Artist Studios proudly presents 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘩𝘴, a joint exhibition by photographer Dan Lettice and artist Holly Delaney. It showcases a selection of the West Cork marine wildlife through the mediums of photography, painting and more. While nothing can match seeing these amazing animals in the flesh this exhibition hopes to portray some of the local wildlife and the passion both Dan and Holly have for it.

Dan and Holly first met through a similar interest of theirs: wolves. While studying wolves Holly read an article on wolf reintroduction written by Dan and contacted him to talk more about the subject. From there on, they developed an inspiring working relationship.

Artist bios:

Dan Lettice is a wildlife photographer based near Clonakilty, West Cork. Born in Cork City he developed a love for wildlife in his early years. Walks in the countryside bordering the city, urban wildlife and trips to the ocean fostered a strong interest in wildlife that has remained and grown to this day. Dan’s photography journey began shooting Munster rugby matches but almost immediately became part of his wildlife experience. It allows him to share his love of wildlife with others and deliver an important conservation message, which is a huge part of his work. To love something, and to want to protect it, one must first be aware of it.
Through his work Dan aims to share wildlife encounters with people who may not be aware of the experiences available to them. He aims to foster a love for wildlife, a desire to protect it and help address the biodiversity crisis. Dan has documented a wide variety of wildlife but his biggest thrill is photographing and filming marine wildlife.

Holly Delaney grew up on the outskirts of the Phoenix Park in Dublin 15. She was always interested in the wildlife and forests that inhabited this area. Walking to school, she would spot birds and trees that were a significant part of her formative interest in the natural world. She went on to study Fine Art Sculpture at the National College of Art and Design where her love of urban wildlife grew into architectural forms to assist species of duck, rodent and other creatures. In more recent times, Holly has focused on painting and drawing to express her interest in Irelands abundance of wildlife. From canals to the zoo to popular local birds, Holly always has nature at the heart of her subject matter. Ecology can be a study as big as an ocean or as small as a garden. We must remember our part as a responsible element of these relative environments.
