Don’t touch the work is a collaborative digital exhibition between NCAD second year media students Leah Brown, Rachel Murphy and Holly Pickering. The exhibition itself reflects on the disjointed and often lonely nature of creating and exhibiting art during the coronavirus lockdown, as well as the uncanny sentiment that surrounds moving from physical to digital exhibition spaces.
The work itself was all made in isolation, individual themes explore degradation and gradual change, versus immediate change. The effect and symbiotic relationship of natural and artificial variables. the work focuses on the unknown both as a narrative or artistic device and as a subject within itself.
Although the work is being exhibited together, the different rooms the work exists in serves as a mental map for the separation that existed and continues to exist from working remotely.
