OCAP is delighted to present the fourth and final Exhibition of our Summer Programme. ENTROPY is a solo Exhibition from Artist Olga Magliocco which will be launched in Oughterard Courthouse on Friday 13th August from 5 – 7pm and continue to Sunday 22nd August 2021. The Exhibition will be open Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm and 12-5pm on Sundays. All welcome! “The word entropy finds its roots in the Greek and Italian entropia, which means ‘a turning towards’ or ‘transformation’. A common example is that of ice melting in water with the resulting change from formed to free. Art is a process of transformation. This process changes constantly throughout the creation of the work. In science entropy comes from the principle of thermodynamics dealing with energy. It usually refers to the idea that everything in the universe eventually moves from order to disorder and entropy is the measure of that change. This energy and constant change is reflected in the diverse range of works with crossovers and synergies that bring together a cohesive and dynamic body of work”. OCAP is a voluntary group which was formed to run a programme of Visual Art Exhibitions during the Summer months in Oughterard Courthouse with support from both Oughterard Courthouse Conservation & Heritage Company and Galway County Council.
