Born in Co. Clare, Patrick Kenneally graduated from Limerick College of Art and Design with a degree(hons) in fine art. He won the Taylor award for printmaking at the RDS and has had work shown both nationally and internationally. His previous solo exhibitions include “Place” at Scariff Library, “Boireann” and “Of Land, Sea and Mind” at the KAVA Courthouse, Kinvara.
“The process requires carving and printing multiple layers over time and the end product can be uncertain until the final layer of ink goes down, but that’s the beauty of printmaking” says the artist. “You don’t know what you have until the “big reveal” of the last layer.
“The subject matter of this exhibition lends itself well to the process of block printmaking” “From the linear forms of the Mill wheel to the architectural lines of the Abbey window, there is a wealth of artistic inspiration in the culture, heritage and history of this beautiful town and its surrounding environment”
