Date(s) - 06/10/2018 - 13/10/2018
Exhibition Opening: Saturday October 6th from 6-9pm.
This exhibit is an explorative journey of a small artist collective of 9 artists exploring the themes of traditional roots, South European folklore, shamanism and ancient cultures and beliefs based around the topic and shows how it has shaped spiritual concept in modern society in today’s modern era of science and high tech.
The exhibit consists of works of photography, paintings and music to sink the attendees fully into this installation with their sense of see, hear and touch as this will be an interactive and educational experience for many and a journey of spiritual achievement through the research of self consciousness, balance and knowledge that we hope one finds attending this installation.
The aim of this exhibit is to show the viewer how these ancient elements are still present in modern society, how spirituality is a great influence in modern art for many and the culture all around us to this day especially since Ireland has such rich pagan roots that can be seeing everywhere.
Occultism, paganism and folklore are often misinterpreted and misunderstood in our culture as something negative even though in most cultures it is part of the worlds history. By creating this project we hope to offer a fresh perspective for the viewer, a perspective that is much further from what is commonly shared by the media about this subject and to make people more aware of their own roots and the balance between a man and nature that is so co-dependant on each other.
