Claremorris Visual Arts Community is an artist’s collective of six members founded in 2015. Their purpose is to encourage one other on their journey as artists, a path that can be at times challenging. As well as their deeply serious purpose of developing their work and creating opportunities to show and share the work, there is a social and supportive aspect to CVAC. There is a diversity and inclusivity of experience and backgrounds within the group that informs their arts practices. They are deeply engaged with making, that is engaging with the materiality of their various disciplines. This is a way of grappling with and apprehending realities and expressing their deepest concerns through their art.

The members are Marie Kenna, Dr Ann O’Mahony, Christine Lynn, Anna O’Dixon, Norah Brennan and Ann Warde
“Intricate Weaves” is the groups third show together but the first time that they set themselves a theme. Each member of the group has worked on and interpreted the theme independently. Some have moved out of their comfort zone and produced work in a different media, others have responded to the theme in surprising ways. All the while learning about themselves and their art.
