mother’s tankstation will be exhibiting Jessie Homer French for their participation in Platform: London, a viewing room hosted by David Zwirner Online, that invites twelve London-based galleries to present works by an artist in their programme.

Jessie Homer French, born in New York in 1940, moved to Los Angeles in the late 1950s. She has maintained a fiercely independent and sometimes solitary spirit, with equal passions for painting, fly-fishing, ecology and polemics – all clearly evidenced in her work. As an essentially self-taught artist working daily for over forty years, recent solo exhibitions have transformed a local following into international attention.

Jessie Homer French’s politically engaged inaugural shows with mother’s tankstation launched in 2019 to significant critical approbation, in parallel across the two galleries in Dublin and London. In London, Stealth Bomber/s focused on a curatorial selection of works featuring the controversial B2 ‘American Spirit’ Heavy Penetration Bombers, and the Dublin exhibition rolling-out a broader contextual show of paintings since 1978, illuminating some of the artist’s major subjects.
