Over the past six months Niall Kurb Junki Cullen has been collaborating with Dion McGarrity – Director of Killing: Time, an Irish skateboarding collective. The collaboration will conclude with an exhibition and video premiere, free to attend on March 12th with doors opening at 6pm. The video titled Killing Time (25 minute running time) was filmed by Niall K. J Cullen and Dion McGarrity over the course of three months. The piece was edited and directed by K. J. Cullen. Additionally, the film includes archived footage, samples, animation and photography also from Cullen who splices the visual journey with soundtracks from Irish musicians Frog of Earth, Odd Ned and others. The result is a colourful, overstimulating audio-visual window into Irish skateboarding and Dublin’s public space through using storytelling, moving portraits and encounters with strangers/ familiars. The exhibition will unveil a unique edition of Killing: Time skateboards, printed with the image of a bespoke Cullen painting. There will also be a limited run of screen-printed K:T apparel that features a motif from Cullen’s painting practice. The screen-printed motif was made from a photo collage consisting of marks made from skateboarding on ledges/ kerbs located at Portobello, Charlemont and Grand Canal Dock. The film will run three times during the evening. (Capacity: 50 people per screening) First screening: 7:00pm Second screening: 8:00pm Third Screening: 9:00pm
