You are warmly invited to the Art opening of Life Algorithms, by Georgie Vargemezi, on the 7th of February, 6:30PM-7:30PM, at Dooradoyle library.
Georgie Vargemezi is a visual artist who is currently working from Wickham Studios.
”Life Algorithms is a collection of abstract works, on paper, and on canvas that portray the daily journey of navigating through life’s rules, norms, and social behaviours. Even though this regards everyone, as a bipolar individual, I have had to manoeuvre through many circumstances and occasions while reaching stability. In these works, you can see an artist who is bipolar, not a bipolar person who expressed themselves through art. Having been unstable in the past actually prohibited me from creating what I want to create which was intensely frustrating and led to me to stop painting. Many people believe that this form of instability fuels art, however in my case, as I am sure others, having a clear head and being able to work through emotions and feelings, as well as work, and live a normal daily life, assists a great deal more to really express. These retrospective experiences are now culminated in this exhibition visually in abstract forms, anthropomorphic and not, lines and tensions on the paper or canvas. Vivid and more muted colour palettes can symbolise different events, times and my support system – my family – on my road to stability. ”
Cllr. Sharon Benson will open the evening. Drinks & nibbles will be available!
Some works will be available for sale.
