Date(s) - 10/09/2021 - 14/09/2021
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

KAVA – Kinvara Area Visual Arts

“The artwork in the exhibition is based on the Covid-Lockdown Diary of artist Christopher Banahan, made during the pandemic lockdowns and as a creative response to being a recipient of the Art Council’s Covid crises Artist’s response Award.

The exhibition addresses themes of loneliness with the effects of social isolation during the lockdowns, particularly for the elderly and the vulnerable in rural communities.

The exhibition also considers the positive effect of the lockdowns, such as the reevaluation of the natural beauty of local rural settings and being fortunate enough to be surrounded by such ‘imprisoned splendour,’ particularly with the fine weather of the first lockdown.”

The exhibition will take place in the Courthouse in Kinvara, from 10 – 14 September, and opening hours are 10:00am – 4:00pm Fri – Sun, and 12:00pm – 4:00pm Mon – Tues.
