Exhibition Opening: Wed 9th January from 6 to 8pm. ArtisAnn Gallery start the New Year with a new show by a fresh new talent: Dan Ferguson. Dan was born and brought up in London and worked as a teacher of Art & Media Studies before decanting to Belfast with his wife and family. Having recently completed his MA at Ulster University, Dan is proud to present his first solo show since graduating with a series of paintings entitled “Make Room”. Make Room features a series of paintings all relating to the expression and enjoyment of dance, dancers and onlookers, in Northern Ireland over the last 50 years. Dan enjoys painting places and people, identities and souls and mostly seemingly banal scenes, endeavouring to honour the spirit and history of a person or place. He uses the situation and setting, as much as the figures, as protagonists to reveal layers within identity, narrative, and era. Make Room by Dan Ferguson runs at the ArtisAnn Gallery from Wednesday 2nd January to Saturday 2nd February with a preview at the gallery on Wed 9th January from 6 to 8pm. All art is available to buy, and may be collected/delivered after the exhibition ends. You can also buy art from this exhibition through the own art scheme; an interest free loan over 10 months (and you still get to take the art home immediately the exhibition ends). Map
