Anne Korff will be showing the original artwork from ‘Meditations – Roses of Hope.’ This artwork was created as a series of paintings during the Corona Virus pandemic of 2020/21. Throughout this period of solitude and isolation, Anne wanted to share her artwork as a way of providing support, inspiration, and nourishment for the soul. Each painting is a meditation using energy, colour, and shape to bring us hope and solace. The recurring design of star and rose has its origins in Islamic art and architecture. This theme has been taken as a basis for the artwork from Anne’s observations while travelling through the Mediterranean countries and Turkey. Anne invites us to join her in contemplation of the symbolism of rose and star, love and loss, memory, peace, and hope. The artwork is composed of large paintings on paper, not seen before. It was executed using high-quality acrylic paint and has an underlayer of linocut stencil work which was built up in layers to achieve richness of colour. The exhibition will be showing in the Courthouse in Kinvara from the 21st – 28th of December (closed 24th & 25th). Opening hours will be from 12:00 – 5:00pm. Map
