The Glucksman are pleased to announce that they will be re-opening on 13 July with new visiting hours of 11am – 5pm, Monday to Saturday. They have extended current exhibitions to allow you to rediscover Viewpoints: Children’s Rights in Imaginary Spaces and Moving Spaces: Learning through the UCC Art Collection and to experience the wonderful architecture of the galleries. Moving Spaces: Deirdre Breen, Colin Crotty, Miriam De Búrca, Joy Gerrard, John Halpin, Kent Jones, Roseanne Lynch, Colin Martin, Dara McGrath, Shane O’Driscoll, Richard Proffitt, Amelia Stein Over the last few years, the University College Cork Art Collection has been developed as an active learning resource. The collection has been at the centre of our Classroom Museum initiative and has expanded through acquisitions related to education and curatorial projects. Moving Spaces reflects on these instances of learning with an exhibition of new works from the UCC Art Collection that explores how art can inspire and support teaching methods as well as offering the insights of other disciplines into contemporary art practices. If it is not possible for you to visit us in person right now, we hope you will explore creative ways of connecting with us online. Our projects Home from Home: Irish artists respond to the COVID-19 restrictions and Creativity at Home remain available for you to enjoy, and during our hiatus from the building we have also developed our website to include a range of resources, including audio guides and digital toolkits.
