Nobody in Particular, is a new exhibition of work by Conor Bereen, which runs from 25 September until 2 October, in a newly imagined pop up gallery space on Coppinger Row (beside Coppinger Row restaurant).
A Fine Art graduate of Central St. Martin’s in London, Conors’ practice explores photography as part of his painting process. This exhibition centres around some of his street photography taken during visits to Brazil over several years.
The subjects in his work are for the most part strangers to him. As images, moments in time, they are elevated into another world with a somewhat disjointed reality. They are subjects rich in form; sometimes playful, sometimes jolly; sometimes achingly lonely.
Working in acrylic and oils Conor employs bold and vivid colours. This combined with his realistic figurative painting results in a familiar yet surreal environment.
