Not the time to be silent | Anne McDonald Poetry Reading + Open Mic

‘Not the time to be silent’ is an Arts response to social distancing in the form of an online community group and weekly online poetry events.On Thursday 9 July we host Poet Anne McDonald.All are welcome regardless of location or desire to read.Access is through the facebook group, or email for details.
Anne McDonald is a spoken word poet and dramatist and creative writing teacher whose work has been broadcast and reviewed on RTE Radio. She is a winner of the Ballina/AIB international poetry competition, and the Skerries poetry competition.She was a third prize winner in this years Strokestown International Poetry competition. and has been short listed for the Francis Macmanus short story competition in 2017.
Anne has performed in Dublin, Drogheda and London as part of the Women Of Wit ensemble and her performance work is centered on the challenges women face in a society that is changing rapidly and how they respond or react to those changes.
She has had work published in Women’s News, Hot Press magazine, Electric Acorn 17, Woman’s Work Anthologies 1 & 2, The Blue Nib and online journals. Anne has an M.Phil in Creative Writing. Her first collection of poetry “Crow’s Book” is due out in Summer of 2020.
