Online Artist Talk | MAKE 2022 from MTU Crawford, College of Art and Design Date/Time
Date(s) - 05/03/2022
10:00 am - 5:00 pm

We invite you to join us for ninth annual MAKE symposium on Saturday March 5th 2022.

MAKE, which explores issues relating to making and materiality, is attended each year by students, educators and art and design professionals. The theme of this year’s online event is the role of art in healing and repair, with leading artists, educators, curators and art therapists exploring its role in both the intimate and personal healing of illness and bereavement, as well as the notion of repair and restoration in society in general.

MAKE is hosted by the department of Contemporary Applied Arts at MTU Crawford, College of Art and Design, Cork, Ireland. The college’s Contemporary Applied Arts Degree course provides students with a hands-on engagement with material as a path to concept as well as a way of thinking through making and through dialogue with a material. It offers experimentation and innovation within an interdisciplinary offering of Ceramics, Glass and Textiles, addressing the current debate in the culture of the object and in material culture, all within the context of historic and contemporary fine and applied art.
