Jenny Richardson was born in Edinburgh and attended Edinburgh College of Art (1962 – 1966). She has worked all her life as a painter in Scotland and Ireland and has made her home on the Beara peninsula of West Cork since 1998.
As a 4 year old, Jenny spent a year away from her family in a hospital for polio affected children in Edinburgh. In her 60’s she created a series of paintings which draw from her childhood memories of that time. A sensitive and touching account of life in hospital is contained in a beautifully presented book which also reproduces letters she received from her mother.
