Jenny Richardson was born in Edinburgh and attended Edinburgh College of Art (1962 – 1966). She has worked all her life as a painter in Scotland and Ireland and has made her home on the Beara peninsula of West Cork since 1998.

As a 4 year old, Jenny spent a year away from her family in a hospital for polio affected children in Edinburgh. In her 60’s she created a series of paintings which draw from her childhood memories of that time. A sensitive and touching account of life in hospital is contained in a beautifully presented book which also reproduces letters she received from her mother.

The Artist’s Well is a weekly programme via Zoom (live) and YouTube (recorded for playback) which provides viewers with an insight into the lives, work spaces and work practices of artists around the world in order to inspire and support each other. It features individuals in all disciplines of the Arts and those connected with or working in the Arts. It is intended to enrich viewers with knowledge, experience, fresh thinking, techniques and advice. The Artist’s Well is a non-scripted, informal interview and studio tour format with the opportunity for viewers to ask questions at the end. It is the creation of and hosted by portrait artist Alan Keane https://www.aka.ie For invitations to attend the live events or to be a featured artist by our panel, please email alan@aka.ie “The Artist’s Well” (title and content) is copyright Alan Keane and may not be shared or used in any way without the expressed written permission of the copyright owner.
