Experimental poetry and Visual poetry
– You gotta write, for your right – to poetry.
Hear about the journey from lockdown banana bread to becoming a published poet and founder of the successful Beir Bua Journal – Ireland’s leading experimental poetry and visual poetry journal.
Shining a light into all the colours that make up avant-garde poetry from surrealism (think Dr. Seuss) to postmodern (think Willy Wonka) – Michelle will lead us through these experimental poetic worlds ending with visual poetry and a reading along the way.
Learn how to write an experimental poem with a simple rhyme and a newspaper.
Create a visual poem through the informed design of doodling.
• In this talk we’ll hear about Michelle Moloney King’s journey to experimental poetics
