On 25 November (6 pm-7.30 pm GMT), the Irish Architecture Foundation’s final New Now Next live virtual talk of 2021 will bring together four of the world’s most acclaimed and forward-thinking architects to discuss their work and pressing architectural issues of our time.
The free event will feature a lecture by Paris-based 2021 Pritzker Prize Laureates Anne Lacaton and Jean-Phillipe Vassal. This will be followed by a discussion and Q&A moderated by Irish 2020 Pritzker Prize Laureates Shelley McNamara and Yvonne Farrell of Grafton Architects. The Dublin-based practice was recently awarded the RIBA Stirling Prize 2021. The Zoom webinar will be live closed captioned and also live broadcast around the world on e-flux Video & Film.
Throughout their careers, Lacaton & Vassal have pioneered alternatives to city plans that call for the demolition of social housing. Instead, they offer a strategy that saves the building while prioritising the needs of the inhabitants, the environment and the wider community.
This event is presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation as part of their annual international talks’ series New Now Next, supported by ARUP.
