Online Exhibition | Boundary Conditions by Dennis McNulty at Lismore Castle Arts
Website Categories... iCal |
Commissioned by Lismore Castle Arts for the exhibition Light and Language, Boundary Conditions combines two elements: a poster and a 40 minute geo-located audio piece. Under normal circumstances, audio element is only accessible if the listener is physically present in one of four locations on the face of the earth: Lismore Castle Arts, County Waterford (the site of Light and Language); Walkinstown, Dublin (where the artist Dennis McNulty lives); Clifton, New Jersey (where Nancy Holt grew up); and the area around Greenwich Street, New York (where Nancy Holt lived when she made the artworks on show in Light and Language). For the duration of the first weekend in September 2021, the audio will be unlocked temporarily from these places and made freely accessible to listeners wherever they are in the world. The work is best experienced on headphones while walking outdoors. If you take any photos while you walk please send them to gallery@lismorecastlearts.ie Map Map Unavailable |
