Anthony Carey: Breaking Raw The exhibition presents a range of work that includes paintings, video and photographic works that remain as visual remnants of installations and performance. One recurring subject for the artist is his use of materiality, which serves as a record of truth and a representation of ‘his memory’ manifested in his work’s tangible and tactile nature. “This is my truth; I cannot express in words with the same visceral release that painting allows.” These abstract offerings draw upon experiences that question love, loss and life experiences and invite the viewer to engage in a contemplative way with the artwork.
