SUMMARY:Out of Ink | Val McLoughlin at Ballina Library Exhibition Space
DESCRIPTION:\n\nExhibition continues from 06/08/26.\nLocal artist Val McLou
ghlin has two exhibitions running at the moment in Ballina\, including Out
of Ink at Ballina Library. Ink painting has elements of calligraphy with
suggestions of landscape\, paintings made using brushwork and line in bala
nced compositions. The medium displays its capacity to render movement and
energy through its inherent fluidity. These paintings mainly take the for
m of abstract expressionism with references to Chinese and Japanese aesthe
tics. They can be described as an integration of contemporary western art
and traditional eastern ink paintings.\nMonday: Closed Tuesday: 10.00am -
  7.00pm Wednesday: 10.00am - 7.00pm Thursday: 10.00am - 5.00pm Friday:
