SUMMARY:Rapport | Group Exhibition at Larne Museum & Arts Centre
DESCRIPTION:"Rapport" is an exhibition of work by three artists\, Jo Going\
, Fiona Woods and Amanda Montgomery.\n\nThe three artists met at the Banff
Centre for the Arts\, Canada\, in 2002.\n\nFiona and Amanda had been awar
ded three month residencies with the Leighton Studios by the Arts Council
of Northern Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland respectively. Jo\, an
artist from Alaska\, had a residency there at the same time.\n\nThe artist
s struck up a rapport that continued over 20 years. This is their second e
xhibition together. Their first exhibition\, taking place in KAVA\, Kinvar
a\, in October 2023.\n\nSadly\, Jo passed in January 2024.\n\nThis exhibit
ion brings the three artists together again.\n\nThe works are diverse in m
edia and approach. What connects them is a shared interest in looking beyo
nd the surface of things\, hinting at sacred spaces and complex narratives
\, invoking the emotions\, sensations and longings that arise from the con
dition of being human.\n\nThe exhibition will be on display from Friday 1s
t until Friday 29th August 2025\, and will include Saturday opening on 16t
h August.\n\nFor more information\, please contact Larne Museum & Arts Cen
 tre on 028 28 262443 or e-mail marian.kelso@midandeastantrim.gov.uk.\n\nIm
