DESCRIPTION:Lightbox Commission.\n\nFlax is delighted to present our second
  Lightbox Commission\, now illuminated at our Bedford Street site - Louise
  French’s ‘Scaling Structure’.\n\nLike the paintings in French’s c
 urrent exhibition ‘All in Colour’\, this lightbox piece plays with col
 our saturation\, layering and reversal. It draws on diagrammatic compositi
 ons\, such as for Sogetsu ikebana\, along with ongoing studio experiments 
 with colour and form using a restricted palette and inventing rules for di
 viding space.\n\nLouise French completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Nat
 ional Art School\, Australia\, 2022. In March 2023 she joined Flax Art Stu
 dios (Belfast) Emerging Artist Programme. She has had solo exhibitions at 
 Threshold Gallery\, Belfast\, and Ards Art Centre\, Newtownards. Her work 
 has been shown in group exhibitions including at RuptureXIBIT (London)\, R
 -Space (Lisburn)\, Arcade Studios and Catalyst\, Belfast.\n\n‘Scaling St
 ructure’ is on view 24 hours a day at 29 Bedford Street\, Belfast\, BT2 
 7EJ until 31 August.\n\nIn parallel\, ‘All in Colour’ at Shankill Road
  Library is on until 31 August 2025 and is the eleventh annual exhibition 
 made in collaboration between @flaxartstudios and @librariesni\n\nLouise F
